Be careful if you’re planning to purchase an iPhone in the land of the Great Wall of China, According to some reports online, the iPhone 4 has been running low on stock in China and phone scalpers have been taking advantage of the situation.
Prices for the iPhone on the gray market have raised since the shortage- a logical occurrence, seeing how some people would be willing to pay more for a phone that’s out of stock. But some scalpers go beyond that- there have been reports of scalpers selling the iPhone at a cheaper than retail/regular scalper price. The only problem with this is that the iPhones turn out to be imitation devices. So effectively, consumers have been purchasing cheap devices at a higher price. So if you’re planning to purchase an iPhone from anywhere else besides a carrier or official Apple Store- be wary, you might not get what you pay for.
