How to Open Google Results in a New Tab in Firefox

If you look for a keyword on Google using the Firefox Search field, located on the left-side of the browser, you will get a list of Google Search results in the same tab you are. If this tab contains a webpage, it will be substituted by the search result. Wouldn’t you like to force Firefox to open new search results in a new tab so that you won’t loose anything of what you were doing on the Internet? Let’s see how..

1. Open Firefox.
2. In the Web address field, type about:config and press Enter.
3. Click the I’ll be careful, I promise button.
4. In the Filter box, type browser.search.openintab.
5. Double check the valut to set it to True.
